My son(8) and I experienced the homeless application process with the UK council after being evicted under a section 21 (no fault eviction). We were sent to a shared temporary accommodation where we shared the kitchen, bathroom and toilets with other families. I was in this accommodation for almost a year and met so many families in similar positions, I started giving them tips that I used that worked. The council said I was intentionally homeless on two occasions regardless of my bipolar disorder and I was going to be evicted but fought on with an amazing legal aid solicitor. Eventually, we were housed in the local area.
